The backbone of the play's narrative is "revolution," riots, and people's protests due to the cholera epidemic and poverty, while "children of the sun" passionately struggle and burn in love triangles or dysfunctional communities, marriages, relationships, within their four walls. With such a strong desire and focus on partners, the characters have neither the time nor the interest to see the bigger picture, the catastrophe approaching them, which will ultimately destroy them. At the core of all these relationships, which are both comedic, tragic, and bizarre, with which everyone can identify, lies a wish that unites all differences, and that is the desire for possession, conquering others' emotions, bodies, and minds, where no means are spared for that goal.
